Opening the “International Conference on new materials and sustainability”
On 7th November Bernard Mathieu opened the international French-speaking conference on “new materials and sustainability” which took place in Liège, Belgium. He focused his opening speech on the need to re-invent concrete to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral built environment.
The two-day conference addressed four themes: the development and use of new building materials, the sustainability aspects of building materials, the impact on occupants’ health, comfort or safety and finally the societal aspect of materials.
