On 27 May, A.SPIRE officially published its “Vision 2040” for Europe’s process industries. Over the past year, HOP3 Consulting has supported the facilitation and drafting of this Vision 2040 bringing together representatives from multiple European industrial sectors for an innovation-driven industrial renewal of Europe.
HOP3 Consulting is proud to have contributed extensively to this collective work.
At the heart of the Vision lies a strong conviction: a strong Europe requires strong process industries on its territory.
In a context marked by rising geopolitical instability, increasing competitive pressure and accelerating decarbonisation requirements, the Vision recognises a difficult reality: the risk of industrial decline in Europe is already materialising. At the same time, the document expresses a clear ambition for industrial renewal.
The central message is that Europe will not reconcile climate ambition, circularity and prosperity without accelerated industrial innovation.
The Vision therefore calls for a major effort to:
- strengthen the global competitiveness of European process industries,
- reinforce Europe’s strategic autonomy and industrial resilience,
- and accelerate the transition towards climate neutrality and circularity.
In practical terms, this means:
- reconciling net zero and circularity with industrial prosperity,
- reducing strategic dependencies,
- accelerating the deployment of breakthrough technologies,
- and building resilient European industrial value chains.
